Getting to the British Virgin Islands

Caribbean Sailing's fleet is centrally located at Prospect Reef Hotel Marina, in Road Town on the island of Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. Getting to the BVI is simple but involves some planning.

While American Airlines continues to be the primary supplier of flights in and out of Tortola, there are some alternatives.  US Air and Delta both serve St Thomas, USVI which is a water taxi ride away.  Many carriers now offer on line bookings that can be cheaper.  However, the potential of discounted rates being offered at anytime is not mentioned on the web, while some Travel Agents seem to be aware in advance.

In terms of overall routing, the options include…
    • The most direct route to Caribbean Sailing involves an international flight into Puerto Rica and a subsequent commuter flight into Beef Island in the BVI.  From there, Caribbean Sailing's Marina, is just 20 minutes by taxi.  American Airlines appears to have the best selection of flights.
    • Alternative routing would include flying into St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and catching a 40 minute ferry to Road Town in the BVI. From there Caribbean Sailing's Marina is approximately 3 minutes by taxi or a 10 minute walk.  Airlines to consider to St Thomas are Delta, American and US air.

Caribbean Sailing is centrally located on Tortola and is highly accessible to land travelers.  We are located in Road Town, capital of the BVI, 5 minute taxi ride from the Road Town ferry dock and 25 minutes taxi ride from the airport.  Upon your arrival,  you will be met by Owners Taxi Service owned and operated by Andrew.  For a photo of Andrew click here.
